Luther took two steps closer to clinching a third consecutive Iowa Conference championship, sweeping University of Dubuque this afternoon 4-1, 8-0 (5).
In game one, Sara Nelson and Bailey Victoria both drove in a run in the first inning, and Anna Strien drove in two in the second. Victoria grounded out to second that scored Nelson.
In the second, Burrows walked and Nelson reached on a fielder's choice. Strien singled up the middle that scored both Burrows and Nelson. Nelson and Strien finished game one both going 2-for-4.
Samantha Bratland went the distance in the circle en route to her 17th win against just two losses. Bratland allowed one run on five hits and struck out three.
