The American Rivers Conference has announced the 2019 all-conference team. Sixteen players were named first-team and 15 were named second-team. Luther had recognized as first-team selections and two as second-team honorees.
Senior pitcher Samantha Bratland (Spring Grove, Minn.), senior catcher Addy Pender (Johnston, Iowa) and junior infielder Paige Timmerman (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) were first-team selections.
This is the first time Pender and Timmerman have been named all-conference. In conference play, Pender batted .348 that included five doubles, one triple, three home runs and drove in 12 runs. Her .696 slugging percentage ranked fifth in the league. Defensively, she was credited with 82 putouts, 12 assists and one error for a fielding percentage of .989.
Timmerman finished sixth in the conference with a batting average of .415, that included three doubles and one home run. Defensively, she was credited with 14 putouts, 24 assists and four errors, recording a fielding percentage of .905 at second base.
Bratland became the 10th player in Luther history to earn all-conference honors four times, but the first to be named first-team all four years. She made eight starts in league play and finished with a record of 6-2. In 54 1/3 innings of work she struck out 40 and posted an ERA of 2.19. Her 40 strikeouts ranked second, while her ERA ranked third.
Junior Abby Gehringer (Indianola, Iowa) who started at first base and sophomore shortstop Hannah Halverson (Janesville, Wis./Craig) were second-team honorees.
Halverson batted .364 driving in 11 runs. Defensively, she was credited with 28 putouts, 40 assists and three errors for a fielding percentage of .958.
Gehringer drove in 13 runs thanks to 2 doubles and three home runs en route to a batting average of .313. She recorded 114 putouts and just two errors for a fielding percentage of .983.
Junior right fielder Annie See (Mount Vernon, Iowa) was one of two players named honorable mention. See finished the conference schedule batting .304 with eight rbi.
