Natalie Stockman Named IIAC Position Player of the Week

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that Luther junior Natalie Stockman has been named the league's Position Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 7. This is the second time this year Stockman has been so honored.

Stockman helped lead Luther to a second consecutive Iowa Conference Tournament championship on Saturday, May 6. In the championship game with the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth against Central College, Stockman produced a walk-off single to center field, that scored Ashley Burrows from second base.

In the semifinal round against Wartburg College, Stockman drove in three of Luther's five runs during the Norse 5-1 victory over the Knights. Her four RBI on the day increased her season total to 51.

The tournament championship was Luther's sixth in the past eight years.

It was announced on Monday, May 8, that Luther (39-3) will host the NCAA III Decorah, Iowa Regional May 12-14.
