The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) has announced that Luther College junior Bailey Hocker has been named the co-softball Position Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 26.
During Luther's annual spring trip to Clermont, Florida, Hocker batted .565 with a slugging percentage of .826 and drove in 10 runs to help the Norse go 8-0 last week.
A transfer from Southeastern Community College, West Burlington, Iowa, Hocker has made an immediate impact in the Norse lineup. After 18 games, she leads the Norse with a batting average of .541. She has driven in 18 runs and has posted a slugging percentage of .703.
With this honor Hocker becomes the third Luther player to be named Position Player of the Week this season.
