Six Luther Softball Players Named NFCA All-Midwest Region

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the 361 players chosen for the 2015 NFCA Division III All-Region softball teams. As in the past, the squad is comprised of three teams in each of the country’s eight NCAA regions.

Luther was well represented in the Midwest Region and was one of seven teams in the country to have six player named all-region.

Named first team all-Midwest Region included junior catcher Carli Radil, senior shortstop Katie Wieland, senior outfielder Hiliary Pennington and sophomore pitcher Amanda Witzlib who was at at-large selection.

Second team honors were presented to senior Alise Miller at first base and first-year outfielder Ashley Burrows.

Radil, who moved from first base to catcher this season, is the only repeat all-region selection. This will be her third time receiving this honor, the first coming in 2013 (3) and the second in 2014 (1).
