Senior outfielder Kelsey Rose has been named to the 2015 Capital One Division III Academic All-District® Eight Softball Team. Twelve student-athletes were selected for this honor; one catcher, five infielders, three outfielders, two pitchers and one designated player. Rose was one of five Iowa Conference softball players selected. This is the second time in as many years Rose has been so honored.
The 2015 Capital One Division III Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA’s Academic All-America teams programs in 2011.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Rose is a Management/Accounting major with a grade point average of 3.77.
She is the daughter of Kevin and Mary Ann Rose of Bettendorf, Iowa.
