The NCAA Division III Softball Committee has announced the 62 teams that will compete in the Division III Softball Championships (bracket).
The regional round will be held May 8-10. Four teams will compete at 14 regional sites and three teams will compete at two regional sites. The team advancing from each regional will compete in the super regional round May 15 and 16. The finals, hosted by Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the City of Salem, will be held May 21-26 at the Moyer Sports Complex, Salem, Virginia. All rounds will use a double-elimination format.
Luther (36-4) will host what will be called the Decorah Regional and will be the No.1 seed. Traveling to Decorah will be University of St. Thomas (34-10), St. Paul, Minnesota; Linfield College (31-12), McMinnville, Oregon; and The College of St. Scholastica (31-14), Duluth, Minnesota. St. Thomas will be the No. 2 seed, Lindfield No. 3 and St. Scholastica No. 4.

1:00 p.m. – No. 3 Linfield vs. No. 2 St. Thomas (game 1)
3:30 p.m. – No. 4 St. Scholastica vs. No. 1 Luther (game 2)
Saturday, May 9
11:00 a.m. – Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner (game 3)
1:30 p.m. – Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser (game 4)
4:00 p.m. – Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 winner (game 5)
Sunday, May 10
Noon – Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 winner (game 6)
2:30 p.m. – If necessary
Luther is making its 16th appearance in the national tournament, its seventh consecutive and eighth in the last nine years.
The Norse are coached by Renae Hartl who has compiled a career record of 431-159 and is in the midst of her 14th season. This year, she led Luther to its eighth Iowa Conference regular season championship posting a record of 12-0. The Norse have been ranked in the top-25 of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) national poll for 84 of the last 87 weeks.
