The six-team Iowa Conference Tournament field is set. The first round of the tournament will take place Saturday, Oct. 28. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 1 and the championship match will be played on Saturday, Nov. 4. The winner of the tournament will secure the league's automatic berth to the NCAA III National Tournament.
In the semifinal round held Wednesday, Nov. 1, Luther defeated No. 2 University of Dubuque 1-1 in double overtime, advancing in shootout 4-3, and No. 1 seed Loras defeated Wartburg 3-1.
Luther will now travel to Loras on Saturday, Nov. 4 for the championship match. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Rock Bowl.
These two teams have met three times prior to this year in the championship match. In 1996, Luther defeated Loras 1-0. In 2003, Loras claimed the tournament title in a shootout (6-5) following a 0-0 double overtime draw. The last time they have met in the title tilt was 2004 and Loras won that match 2-3.
