The United Soccer Coaches has announced its list of All Academic Teams for the 2016-17 academic year. A total of 816 soccer teams (283 men, 533 women) posted a team grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher to earn this honor.
Luther College had a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.19. It marks the eighth year in a row the Norse have been named an All-Academic Team and the 11th time in school history dating back to 1998.
The Norse are coached by Russ Schouweiler, who is in the midst of his eighth season. He has produced a record of 81-54-7. Last year, Luther was crowned Iowa Conference co-champions, capturing its first title since 2009 and fifth in school history. The Norse went on and earned their first trip to the NCAA III National Tournament and advanced to the second round.
