Morgan Kranz Named Co-Female Athlete of the Week

The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) has announced that Luther College women’s golfer Morgan Kranz (Sauk Centre, Minn./Sauk Centre) and Luther College women’s tennis player Shelby Cook (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) have been named American Rivers Co-Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 20, 2020.

Kranz was the medalist of the Luther Fall Invitational held Sept. 19-20 at Oneota Golf & Country Club in Decorah, Iowa. Competing against 52 other A-R-C golfers, Kranz was the tournament medalist shooting rounds of 75-79-154, winning the tournament by ten strokes. This is the senior’s first tournament win of the season and the third time she has finished in the top-10 that includes a runner-up finish at the Norse Classic on Sept. 5-6 at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike, Iowa.

As a team, the Norse finished in a two-way tie for second place with Wartburg, posting a team score of 685. Kranz is coming into the season after taking home the 2019 A-R-C Championships individual title (80-75-77-232) at Ames Country Club in Ames, Iowa.

Kranz is collecting her sixth career Golfer of the Week award (9/21/20, 10/7/19, 9/23/19, 9/16/19, 9/10/19, 9/24/17), four of them coming last season, including the 2019 Women’s Golf MVP honor.
