Twelve members of the Luther College women's cross country team have been named to the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) 2019 Fall Sports All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
All-academic teams are sponsored three times a year, fall, winter and spring. The fall sports all-academic team is comprised of student-athletes from the sports of men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, football, volleyball, women’s tennis, and women’s golf.
Earning all-academic team recognition were seniors Emmy Buntrock (Rochester, Minn./Dover-Eyota), Ilsa Knivsland (Cedar Falls, Iowa), and Vera Lindhorst (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech); juniors Gretchen Blain (Spearfish, S.D.), and Amelia Hornseth (St. Paul, Minn./Nova Classical Academy); sophomores Katie Fetting (Appleton, Wis./East), Sarah Halverson (Winons, Minn./Senior). Grace Herber (Dubuque, Iowa/Whalert), Heather Hostager (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead), Anneke Knauss (Edmonton, Alberta Canada), Peyton McClure (Johnston, Iowa) and Amelia Morrow (Iowa City, Iowa/City).
Buntrock and Lindhorst are being recognized with this honor a third time, while Blain, Hornseth and Knivsland are earning this honor a second time.
