McKenzie Carney Named 2017 USTFCCCA All-Scholar Athlete

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that Luther senior McKenzie Carney has been named a 2017 All-Scholar Athlete.

Carney was one of 368 women across the country who earned All-Academic mention from the USTFCCCA in NCAA Division III. In order to be named USTFCCA All-Academic, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and finish in the top-25 percent at their respective regional.

Luther competed at the Central Regional hosted by Carleton College (MN)on November 11. A total of 215 runners competed in the 6K race. Carney earned all-Region honors for the third time of her career placing in the top-35, finishing 17th with a time of 22.30 and qualified for the NCAA III National Championships.
