Laura Hamilton and Sarah Holtz Make Women's Basketball History

Luther College seniors Laura Hamilton (Minnetonka, Minn./Chanhassen) and Sarah Holtz (Austin, Minn./Pacelli Catholic) have made a bit of women's basketball history.

On Jan. 8, in a home win over Central College, Holtz scored 21 points, and became the 13th player to score 1,000 career points. 

Last night, Jan. 22, Hamilton tallied 10 points during Luther's victory over the University of Dubuque and became the 14th player to score 1,000 career points. 

This is the first time in women's basketball history, when two players from the same graduating class, have scored over 1,000 points during their careers. 

Following last night's game and with eight games remaining on the regular season schedule, Holtz has scored 1,078 points and Hamilton has scored 1,006. Holtz currently ranks ninth all-time and Hamilton ranks 13th.
