Luther capped off its first weekend of dual meet competition with an impressive 24-9 victory over Cornell College this afternoon in Mount Vernon.
As they did in their victory over UW-Stevens Point earlier today, the Norse jumped out to a quick start. Following a 6-5 victory by Sam Camacho (125), both Tyler DiFiore (133) and Marcus Mandler (141), recorded bonus points with major decision victories of 11-0 and 9-1 respectively.
Also adding to the team totals was Teagen Miller (157), Sage Nugent (174), Donovan Corn (197) and Keenan Feldpausch (285). Miller won (6-4, SV-1), Nugent was victorious 7-2, and Corn won 5-0. Feldpausch rebounded after losing his first match of the season against UWSP, defeating Alex Heisdorffer by major decision (8-0).
Luther will begin American Rivers Conference action one week from today. The Norse will travel to the University of Dubuque for a dual that will begin at 1:00 p.m.
