Five Norse Named 2014 NWCA Scholar All-Americans

It was announced last night at the NWCA Division III Hall of Fame Ceremony that five members of the Norse wrestling team have been named 2014 Scholar All-Americans.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a grade point average of at least 3.20 (cumulative or last academic year) and meet one of the three criteria: qualify for the NCAA Championships, place in top six at the NCAA qualifier, or win more than 66 percent of matches and wrestle in 50 percent of scheduled dates.

Norse wrestlers who earned this honor included senior Nick Jazdzewski (174), junior Evan Obert (133), and sophomores Blake Letney (157), Tyler Walls (197) and Conner Herman (285).

This is the second time in school history that Luther has had five wrestlers recognized as NWCA Scholar All-Americans in a single year. The first was 2007.
