The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Men's At-Large Team has been released and Justin Krieter, a 2013 graduate of North Scott High School, was one of 45 athletes (15 on each of three teams) was named to the third-team. With this honor, Krieter becomes the 69th Luther student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
The CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2016-17 Division III Academic All-America® teams program.
Kreiter advanced to the national ballot after earning first team academic all-district honors earlier this year.
Kreiter, a physical education major with a grade-point-average of 3.75, completed his wrestling career this season as the national runner-up at 184. He posted a 2016-17 record of 27-3, increasing his career total to 95-35. He also earned All-America honors in 2016 placing fourth at 184 at the NCAA III National Tournament. Academically, he is a three-time Iowa Conference Winter Sports All-Academic Team honoree (3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale), and a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American.
Kreiter is the son of Eugene and Nancy Kreiter of Davenport, Iowa.
