The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that the Luther College men’s track field team has been named a 2014 All-Academic Team. Luther was one of 93 NCAA III institutions to earn this award.
To earn this award, a track team’s entire roster must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Luther’s team GPA was 3.16.
In addition, senior Austin Bauer (Milaca, Minn.) earned USTFCCAA All-Academic honors. Bauer was a national outdoor qualifier in the 10,000.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic honor, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: a student-athlete must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
