Doreen Fullhart Named Assistant Track and Field Coach

Luther College Director of Athletics, Renae Hartl, has announced that Doreen Fullhart has been hired as the men’s and women’s assistant track and field coach. She will be working primarily with throwing events.

"We are thrilled to have Doreen join our coaching staff,” stated Yarrow Pasche Head Coach of Women’s Track and Field. “Her energy and enthusiasm for the individual and team endeavor combined with a wealth of throwing and competitive experience at the very highest level, make for an outstanding addition to both the men’s and women’s track and field programs. We are excited to get the season rolling!"

Fullhart joins the Norse coaching staff following successful athletic careers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1994-99) and with the USAW National Weight Lifting team (1999-2008).

While at Nebraska, she competed in the hammer, shot put and discus, earning multiple all-conference honors for the Cornhuskers. She also was crowned the Jr. Pan American Champion in the hammer throw.

As a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado she was a member of the USAW National Weightlifting Team and was a three-time national champion and a member of three world championship teams.

Prior to moving to Decorah in 2018 with her husband Lee Fullhart, she was teaching in public education in Woodland Park, Colo. (2008-09), Alpine, Texas (2009-10) and Ajo, Arizona (2015-18), and helped start strength and conditioning programs, personally trained sports specific high school athletes in throws and lifting and conducted Olympic Lifting Clinics.
