The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that the Luther College men’s track field team has been named a 2019 All-Academic Team. Luther was one of 113 NCAA III institutions to earn this award.
To earn this award, a team’s entire roster must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Luther’s team GPA was 3.24.
It was also announced that senior Kyle Gilberg (Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) and sophomore Dan Iselin (Greendale, Wis./Platteville) earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. A total of 462 men were presented this award for the 2018-19 track & field seasons.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA descending order list.
