The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its team and individual academic awards for the 2019-20 school year.
Luther was recognized as an ITA All-Academic team and six student-athletes earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale); all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form; and all varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner; have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the 2019-20 academic year; and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
The six student-athletes named ITA Scholar Athletes were juniors Sakchham Karki (Patan, Nepal), Grant Morton (Port Elizabeth, South Africa), Brook Norwood (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and Ryan Ortega (Winona, Minn./Cotter); and freshmen Dylan Determan (Camanche, Iowa) and Connor Fuzzy (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata).
