Six Luther Men's Tennis Players Recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its team and individual academic awards for the 2017-18 school year.

Luther was recognized as an ITA All-Academic team and six student-athletes earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner; have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the 2015-16 academic year; and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

The six student-athletes named ITA Scholar Athletes were juniors Cam Long (Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert), Brian Murman (Ft. Dodge, Iowa), Nate Parsons (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park), Jake Smith (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) and freshmen Brook Norwood (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and Ryan Ortega (Winona, Minn./Cotter).
