Luther hosted its own invitational this afternoon and placed third of three teams. The University of Wisconsin La Crosse won the team title with 1243 points, followed by Nebraska Wesleyan University with 529 and Luther with 514.
Individually, Jackson Gergen, Matt Staver and Landon Albro posted first place finishes for the Norse. Gergen won the 50 freestyle clocked at (22.78). AJ Von Berge of La Crosse was second with a time of (23.12). Staver won the 100 fly with a time of (54.97). His nearest competitor was Nolan Reid of Nebraska Wesleyan who touched the wall at (55.11). Albro won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events posting point totals of 221.80 and 210.75 respectively.
Staver also placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.35) and third in the 200 IM (2:09.83). Kyle Anderson had two third place finishes, the first in the 200 fly (2:14.44) and the second in the 500 freestyle (5:16.85).
One week from today, Luther will travel to St. Paul, Minn., for a dual against Macalester College. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
