The United Soccer Coaches has announced the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-Region Teams for the four regions, East, North-Central, South and West.
Student-athletes receiving Scholar All-Region recognition met the following criteria: Must have a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout their career; Started more than 50 percent of all games during the 2018 season and significantly contribute to their team; Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution; Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school.
Luther senior defender Harry Merz (Auckland, New Zealand/Tawa College) was named first-team Scholar All-North/Central Region. There were nine players selected first-team, 11 second-team honoree, eight named to the third-team. Merz is a Political Science major who has a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.84.
