The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther senior midfielder Colin Hughes (Oregon, Wis.) has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019. This is the first time he has been so honored.
Hughes helped lead No. 5 seeded Luther to a 3-2 double overtime victory over No. 4 seed University of Dubuque in the first round of the A-R-C Tournament. Hughes scored the first goal of the match and assisted on the game winner by senior forward Ben Keller (Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake) at 109:45. Hughes goal was his seventh of the year and his assist was his sixth.
Luther advanced to the semifinal round of the tournament for the 19th time in tournament history and the 7th year in a row. The Norse will face No. 1 Central College on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m. in Pella, Iowa.
The victory over the Spartans gives the Norse an overall record of 14-4-1.
