United Soccer Coaches has released the association's final season college rankings for NCAA Divsion III men's soccer and Luther (17-5-3) finished at No. 5. This is the highest ranking for the Norse in school history.
Luther spent the entire year ranked in the top-25 and has now been ranked in in the national poll 19 of 20 weeks, dating back to Sept. 11, 2018. During this stretch, the Norse highest ranking prior to today's announcement was No. 8 three times. Luther's highest national ranking was a No. 6 twice, the first Sept. 15, 1997 and the second Sept. 3, 2013.
Luther completed the 2019 campaign advancing the the NCAA III National Tournament Elite 8 for the second year in a row and fourth time in school history. The Norse were making their 10th appearance in the national tournament and the fifth under head coach Chris Garcia-Prats. During his 12 years at the helm, he has led the Norse to an overall record of 154-71-26. His teams have captured three conference championships and three of the last four conference tournament titles.
