Tristan Davenport Named Defensive Player of the Week

The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College senior Tristan Davenport (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Cathloic) has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018. This is the third time of his career he has been so honored.

Davenport anchored a defensive front that held Wartburg (2-0) scoreless in the semifinals of the American Rivers Conference Tournament and allowed one goal versus Loras (2-1) in the championship match. The Norse defensive unit has held opponents to a goals-against-average of 0.75 and has posted 10 shutouts.

Luther (16-3-1) won its eighth tournament title with a 2-1 victory over the Duhawks and will be making its ninth appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

It was announced today that Luther will host first and second round matches for the 2018 NCAA III National Tournament. The Norse will face Knox College in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3:00 p.m.
