The 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s National Soccer Tournament 62-team field was announced on Monday, Nov. 5. Luther College will host first and second round matches, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-11.
Luther (16-3-1) will face Knox College, Galesburg, Ill., in the opening round on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3:00 p.m. Knox (16-4-1) is a member of the Midwest Conference.
In the other first round match, Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., (14-3-1) will face Dominican University, River Forest, Ill., (12-7-1) at 5:00 p.m. Gustavus is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Dominican is a member of the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference
The winners will advance to the second round match that will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.
Luther is making its ninth appearance in the national tournament, the fourth under the leadership of Head Coach Chris Garcia-Prats. Luther earned an automatic berth to the national tournament by winning the six-team American Rivers Conference Tournament. The Norse defeated the Duhawks of Loras College 2-1 in the tournament championship match on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Dubuque.
