Tristan Davenport Named American Rivers Conference Defensive Player of the Week

The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College defender Tristan Davenport (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. This is the second time this year he has been so honored.

During No. 20 Luther's 2-1 road victory over No. 4 University of St. Thomas that was played Sept. 18, Davenport gave the Norse an early 1-0 lead with his fifth goal of the season at 19:37. Brunno Colon (Sao Paulo, Brazil) assisted on the play recording his team best fifth assist of the year.

Four days later, the Norse began the A-R-C schedule on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan University where they posted a 1-0 victory. The Norse defensive line held the Prairie Wolves to just seven shots. The victory gave Luther an overall record of 8-1.

Davenport was also named A-R-C Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 2, 2018.
