Luther Men's Soccer Picked to Finish Second in Preseason Coaches' Poll

It was announced today that the Luther men's soccer team has been picked to finish second in the American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Luther, the defending regular season conference champions, picked up four first-place votes and finished one point behind Loras College.

The Norse are led by Head Coach Chris Garcia-Prats who enters his 11th year. Prats has led Luther to an overall record of 118-62-22 during his tenure. His teams have claimed three regular season conference titles (2011, 2013, 2017) and have made three appearances in the NCAA III National Tournament (2011, 2013, 2016).

Last year, Luther won the regular season title with a record of 6-1-1 and qualified for the conference tournament for the 22nd consecutive year. Luther's season came to an end, losing to Loras 3-1 by shoot out, following a 2-2 tie in double overtime. The Norse finished the year with an overall record of 11-4-5.

Top returners for the Norse include 2017 all-conference selections Andrew Avram (Sr., Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro), Bruno Colon (Sr., San Palo, Brazil), Rafael Broseghini (Sr., Rio De Janerio, Brazil), Ben Keller (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake), Aidan O'Driscoll (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margarets). Also returning is honorable mention all-conference selection Harry Merz (Jr., Wellington, New Zealand).
