Ahmed Osman Named Iowa Conference Defensive MVP

Ahmed Osman, a 2014 graduate of Westview High School, Avondale, Arizona, has been named the 2017 Iowa Conference Defensive Most Valuable Performer. With this honor, Osman becomes the second Norse defender to earn this award in as many years. 

Osman, now a two-time all-conference selection, anchored the Norse defensive line and started all 20 matches. He led a defensive unit that allowed 21 goals in over 1900 minutes of action for a goals-against-average of 0.99. Luther also tallied six shutouts.

Osman, the lone senior starter on defense, completed his career making 72 appearances that included 58 starts. He tallied six goals and added one assist.

Luther won the Iowa Conference regular season title posting a record of 6-1-1. The Norse were 11-4-5 overall. Luther's league title was its ninth in school history and third under the direction of Head Coach Chris Garcia-Prats.
