The annual Gustavus Adolphus Twin Cities Classic is in the books. Seventeen teams played in the three-day tournament that was held on three different courses Sept. 22-24. Day one the field of 96 golfers played at the Elk River Country Club, par 72, 6560 yards; round two was played at The Links at Northfork, par 72, 6989; and the final round was played at Edina Country Club, par 72, 6696 yards.
Luther shot rounds of 314-330-322-966 and finished in a two-way tie for 14th with Carleton College. St. John's University (MN) won the team title carding a 902. The University of Manitoba was second at 915 followed by Augsburg College (MN) and UW-Eau Claire that tied for third at 918.
Joe Fewer once again led the Norse five. Fewer finished in a four-way tie for 14th (75-78-75-228). Brett Buckingham of Augsburg and Devon Schade of Manitoba tied for medalist honors finishing at 217.
Luther will wrap up its fall schedule Oct. 1-2 at the Ronnie Eastman Invitational hosted by Viterbo University. This tournament will be played at the La Crosse Country Club, Onalaska, Wis.
