The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) has announced the 2018 all-conference football team. Two members of the Luther College were listed as first-team honorees and one was a second-team selection.
Seniors Dante Joseph (Layton, Utah/Northridge) and Michael Noll (Lake City, Minn./Lincoln) were named first-team all-conference. Joseph is making his second appearance on the all-conference team named a second-team honoree in 2017.
Joseph, a defensive back, finished the A-R-C schedule ranked sixth in the league for tackles per game with an average of 7.0. He tallied 92 collections for the year, had four pass break-ups, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He finishes his career with 273 tackles, that ranks seventh on Luther's all-time list, and seven interceptions.
Noll is making his first appearance on the all-conference team. Noll finished the conference schedule ranked tied for fourth for sacks (5.5), sixth for tackles for loss per game (1.38) and was among the league leaders for forced fumbles with two. He led the Norse defensive line with 51 tackles that included seven sacks and 13 tackles for loss. He was also credited with two pass break-ups and three blocked kicks. He completes his career with 128 tackles and 12 sacks. His 12 sacks ranks tied for fourth on Luther's all-time list.
Senior tight end Trevor Joiner (Carlisle, Iowa) was a second-team selection. Joiner was not only instrumental in helping lead the Norse rushing attack to a sixth consecutive league rushing title (217.8 ypg), but also finished second on the team in receptions with 31 for 385 yards and three touchdowns.
