Ian Kuykendall Named A-R-C Male Athlete of the Week

The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) has announced that Luther College junior quarterback Ian Kuykendall (Riverview, Fla./East Bay) has been named the league's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 14.

Kuykendall helped lead Luther to its first A-R-C win this past Saturday, a 41-26 decision over Buena Vista University. He led an offensive attack that produced 585 yards of total offense. Kuykendall rushed for a single game career high of 219 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown, and threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns, for a total of 429 yards of total offense. The Luther record for this category is 434 yards of total offense set by Zach Sweers against Buena Vista Oct. 14, 2006. Of his 219 rushing yards, Kuykendall also recorded a personal long of 72-yards.

Four games remain on the 2018 schedule and Kuykendall is having his best season in a Norse uniform. He leads the team in rushing with 608 yards and four touchdowns and has thrown for 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns.
