Luther ran to a fifth place finish today at the NCAA III Central Regional hosted by Wartburg College. Twenty-eight teams raced for a total field of 199 competitors.

Wartburg College (52) edged Carleton College (56) for the team title and both teams earned an automatic berth to the NCAA III National Championships. St. Olaf (108), St. Thomas (129) and Luther (152) completed the top-five.

The NCAA will announce the 16 at-large selections to the national championships Sunday afternoon.

Individually, three Norse earned all-region honors by finishing in the top-35. Ian Kelly was Luther's top finisher at 17th place posting a time of 26:04. Right behind him was Sam Schillinger in 18th clocked at 26:07. Tom Altier earned his second all-region honor placing 35th crossing the line at 26:28.

Completing the Norse seven was Dan Iselin (38th - 26:29), Collin Kern (44th - 26:37), Colin Weber (75th - 27:15) and David Will (115th - 28:10).
