Luther blistered the nets in the second half en route to a 87-69 come-from-behind victory over non-conference opponent Viterbo University. Trailing 52-44 with a little over 10 minutes left in the game, the Norse put together a 43-17 run en route to the victory.
After shooting just 28 percent in the first frame, the Norse connected on 18-of-28 attempts, that included a 7-of-14 effort from behind the three-point line in the second half.
Nathan Meyer led a foursome of double digit scorers with 21. Meyer was 7-of-11 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. Jake Martin recorded a double-double with 16 points and a team best 10 rebounds. Aaron Huber chipped in 13, with 12 coming in the second half. Cale Austin scored all 10 of his points in the final frame.
The V-Hawks were led by David Shepard who also tallied a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds.
The win levels Luther's overall record to 3-3 and snapped a three-game skid. Viterbo is now 6-5.
Luther returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 11 when it will travel to Martin Luther College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
