Luther posted its second win in a row, a 79-67 road victory over Bethany Lutheran College. Trailing 33-30 at halftime, the Norse outscored the Vikings 49-34 in the second half en route to the victory.
Four Norse tallied double digits. James Kappus, who was 6-for-9 from behind the three-point line, led all scorers with a career high 26 points. Jared Nicolaisen was next with 18, followed by Rahul Bagga with 14 and Christian Wright with 11.
The Norse dominated the boards, out rebounding the Vikings 46-37. Ray Whitlock pulled down a game high eight, while both Kappus and Wright were credited with seven each.
The Vikings were led by Neil Eichten with 24 points and Bradley Rose with 13.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 2-1, while Bethany Lutheran fell to 0-3.
Luther resumes play Nov. 25-26 when it will play in the Merrill Thompson Classic, hosted by UW-Superior. The Norse will play UW-Superior on the 25th at 7:00 p.m., and the St. Scholastica on the 26th at 2:00 p.m.
