General Information

Luther is located in Decorah, Iowa located in the northeast corner of the state, approximately 73 miles southeast of Rochester, Minn.; 55 miles southwest of La Crosse, Wis.; 98 miles northwest of Dubuque; and 107 miles north of Cedar Rapids.

Admission to Varsity Events

Admission to volleyball, football, basketball and wrestling are $6.00/adult; $3.00 students. All other athletic events are free admission.

Ticket prices do not apply to NCAA Division III championship events.

Home Events Policies

Groups or organizations that are interested in participating in a home athletic event must email Alex Smith, Associate Athletic Director, a minimum of two days prior to the event to be considered. This includes pregame, halftime, and postgame performances or public address announcements. Direct solicitation to spectators at the event is strictly prohibited.

Carlson Stadium Pets Policy

No pets are allowed within the ticketed area at Carlson Stadium.

Tobacco Free Campus

Luther is a tobacco free campus. Use of any type of tobacco product is prohibited.

Tailgating Policy 

Luther College values its students, employees, alumni, guests of the college and is committed to maintaining a healthy environment, providing safe experiences, and ensuring an environment free from alcohol abuse and illegal chemical use. We take great pride and responsibility in hosting events that are welcoming and safe to all involved.

·      Tailgate hours will be strictly enforced beginning three hours prior to game time and be open up until the start of the contest. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited during the game and all spectators will be asked to enter the venue at the start of the contest or leave the area. All tailgating areas must be cleared one hour following the completion of the contest.

·      Consumption of alcoholic beverages during tailgating will only be permitted for athletic events in which a designated tailgate area is assigned. Alcohol shall be stored in vehicles during time of game.

·      Alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the Regents Center facility.

·      Alcoholic beverages must be consumed in the designated areas only. Those leaving the designated areas with alcohol will be asked to leave the property and will be subject to arrest if applicable.

·      Alcoholic beverages must be in aluminum or non-glass containers.

·      Under no circumstances shall persons under the age of 21 have possession or consume alcohol. The college reserves the right to check identification and notify the proper authorities for underage drinking.

·      Driving under the influence is illegal in the state of Iowa. State drinking laws will be enforced in and around the property.

·      Beer kegs, party balls and glass bottles are prohibited. Drinking games are prohibited  The use of devices intended to accelerate the consumption of alcohol is prohibited.

·      No outside retail sales of alcohol allowed.

·      Individuals who interfere with the rights of other people by use of loud and or abusive language and behavior will be asked to leave the event.

·      Individuals will be responsible for keeping the area clean. Please recycle. Bins will be available in designated areas.

·      Gas/propane & charcoal grills are permitted. No open flames, fireworks, or fire pit grills allowed.

·      This policy will be enforced by Luther security officers and athletics staff. All individuals are subject to legal and College policies.

·      Designated events and designated areas will be determined by Athletic Administration and posted online a minimum of two weeks in advance of the event

Sports Specifics

All athletic venues are located on the lower level of the Luther College campus.

Baseball: The baseball field is located west of the Regents Center. Visiting teams will use the third base side dugouts. The new baseball stadium has stadium seating, but fans are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and sit along the fence line on the third base side of the field. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. The pressbox is equipped with ethernet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home games.

Basketball: Games are played in the Regents Center gym. Admission entrances are located on both the north and south ends of the Regents Center. The visitor bench is located on the north end of the playing floor with the visitors section located directly behind the visiting bench area. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. The Regents Center gym is equipped with internet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home games.

Cross Country: The Luther College cross country course is located on the lower campus with the start and finish area located north of the soccer field. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot.

Football: Games are played on Legacy field in Carlson Stadium located south of the Regents Center. The visitor bench is located on the west sideline of the football field. Visitor stands are located behind the visitor bench. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. The press box is equipped with internet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home games.

Golf: Home tournaments are played at Oneota Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole course located seven miles east of Luther College.

Softball: The softball field is located east of the north parking lot. The visiting team dugout is located on the third base side. The new stadium has stadium seating, but fans are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and sit along the fence line on the first and third base sides of the field. The new press box has ethernet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home games.

Soccer: The soccer field has lights and is located north of the north parking lot. Bleachers for spectators are located on the east side of the field. The home and visiting team bench areas are located on the west side of the field. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. Only authorized vehicles are allowed to drive and park near the soccer field. The soccer field official scoring area is equipped with ethernet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home matches - weather permitting.

Swimming & Diving: The eight-lane swimming and diving pool is located in the Regents Center. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. Entrances to the pool venue are located on both the north and south ends of the Regents Center. From the north entrance, the pool is located to the left through the concession stand area, up one flight of stairs and follow the hallway to the spectator entrances. From the south entrance, the pool is located to the right through the lobby of the Regents Center, up one flight of stairs and follow the hallway to the spectator entrances. The swimming venue is equipped with internet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home meets.

Tennis: The newly renovated outdoor tennis courts are located next to Carlson Stadium. Spectator bleachers are provided on the north end of the courts. The 6 indoor courts are located in the Sports and Recreation Center attached to the Regents Center. Spectator seating is available on the walkway above the venue. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot.

Track and Field: Outdoor Track meets take place in Carlson Stadium. All field events except for the javelin take place next to Carlson Stadium. The javelin venue is located next to the south end of the baseball field. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot.

Indoor track meets take place in the Sports and Recreation Center attached to the Regents Center. Spectator seating is available on the walkway above the venue. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. The Sports and Recreation Center is equipped with internet access.

Wrestling: Competitions are contested in the Regents Center gym. Venue entrances are located on both the north and south ends of the Regents Center. Parking is available in the Regents Center lot. The Regents Center gym is equipped with internet access that allows the sports information office to video stream home meets.
