Luther rolled to a 94-58 victory over visiting Maranatha Baptist University tonight in the Regents Center. Thirteen players scored for the Norse in this contest with five reaching double digits. Garrian Wade led this five-some with 13 points. He was followed by Aaron Blumberg and Ray Whitlock with 12 each, Rahul Bagga with 11 and Ethan Ilinga with 10.
The Norse connected on nearly 44% of their three-point attempts. They were 18-of-41, two shy of the single game school record of 20, set against the University of Dubuque Jan. 23, 2019. Luther also dominated the boards outrebounding the Sabercatts 49-38.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 2-0. Tonight was the season opener for Maranatha Baptist.
Luther travels to the University of Redlands (CA) this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16. The Norse will be playing in the Lee Fulmer Memorial Classic. Friday night Luther plays host Redlands at 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday they play the University of La Verne at 7:00 p.m. Both start times are California times.
