Simpson College jumped out to an early 16-point lead en route to an 88-57 victory over Luther tonight in the Cowles Center. The Storm blistered the nets connecting on 57.6% that included a 50% effort from behind the arch. Luther struggled offensively shooting 29.6%.
Simpson's Conor Riordan had a huge night. Riordan finished with 25 points, 18 in the first half, and missed just two shots (11-of-13). He was also credited with eight rebounds and a game high five assists.
The loss was the third in a row for the Norse who are now 2-8 in the A-R-C, 6-13 overall. Simpson posted its third consecutive win at home and improved to 4-6 in league play, 10-9 overall.
Luther returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 1 when it will host Buena Vista University. Tip-off is slated for 4:00 p.m. in the Regents Center.
