Luther wrapped up its non-conference schedule at Cornell College this afternoon. The Rams defeated the Norse 84-59 in the Multi-Sport Center. The Rams held a 46-28 halftime time lead, thanks to shooting a blistering 52.9%. Cornell finished the game shooting 50.7% and out rebounded the Norse 45-39. Luther had a difficult time from the field connecting on 31.9% that included 27.8% from behind the three-point line.
Gage Thompson led the team with 14 points and Garrian Wade added 10. Aaron Blumberg was next with nine points. Wade led the team with six rebounds and Ray Whitlock dished out a career high five assists.
Three Rams reached double figures led by Cooper Kabela who had a game high 20. Devin Davis was next with 17 and Trevor Boge tallied 13.
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 4-7. Cornell improved to 5-4.
Luther will be off until January 4, when it will return to American Rivers Conference play at Buena Vista University. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Storm Lake, Iowa.
