Gustavus Adolphus hosted the three-round Twin Cities Classic Sept. 28-30. Nineteen teams played in the annual tournament that has the field playing on three different golf courses.
Luther did not record a team score. The Norse had four players entered in the tournament and one withdrew due to a wrist injury on day two, thus resulting in no team score for that day or the tournament.
Individually, Ben Phipps placed fourth from the field of 99 players that played all three rounds. Phipps finished three over par shooting rounds of 72-74-74-220. He finished five strokes behind Jacob Pedersen of Gustavus Adolphus and Gage Stromme of Concordia-Moorhead who tied for medalist honors at 215. Ben Hauge of Gustavus Adolphus was third at 219.
Brandon Dorans carded rounds of 77-78-82-237 and placed tied for 52nd. Matias Parada finished tied for 97th with rounds of 88-88-87-263. Carson Hagen, who has played hurt all fall, played on day one and shot 91, withdrew for day two, and then shot 94 on day three.
Luther will wrap up its fall schedule on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they will travel to Butler National Golf Club, Oak Brook, Ill., to play St. Norbert College.
