Luther entered its final American Rivers Conference match needing a win to qualify for the six-team conference tournament. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead over host Coe College, the Norse were defeated in the final three sets, for a final of 3-2 in favor of Coe.
Luther won sets one and two 25-21 and 25-16. Coe responded with sets victories of 25-19, 25-13 and 15-11. In the final three sets, the Norse recorded a combined 18 kills, while the Kohawks tallied 36.
Coe was paced by Kate Tidman who had 26 kills and Madi Parson who was credited with 20.
Luther finished the A-R-C schedule with a mark of 2-6, 7-21 overall. Coe improved to 4-4 in league play, 14-18 overall.
Luther will wrap up its season this Friday when it will travel to Mount Vernon, Iowa for a non-conference match against Cornell College. Start time is 7:30 p.m.
