Nebraska Wesleyan University defeated Luther 3-1 this afternoon in the Regents Center. The Prairie Wolves posted set victories in set one 25-20, and sets three and four by finals of 25-13 and 25-19. Luther won set two 25-19.
In set one, Luther held a 12-8 advantage, but NWU finished with a 17-8 run to secure the victory. Luther took a 2-1 lead in set two and never trailed the rest of the way recording 15 kills in the process. NWU never trailed in set three and posted an attack percentage of .429. In the fourth and final set trailing 16-13, NWU rattled off a 12-3 run to secure the match victory.
NWU was led by Hannah Bellinghausen with 14 kills and Whitney Jensen with 13.
The loss gives Luther an A-R-C record of 2-5, 7-19 overall. NWU improved to 4-3 in league play, 16-7 overall.
Luther will finish the A-R-C schedule at Coe College on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Match time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
