Nationally ranked No. 9 Luther advanced to the semifinal round of the American Rivers Conference Tournament, thanks to a 3-2 double overtime road victory over the University of Dubuque. The Norse will be making their sixth consecutive appearance in the conference tournament semifinals. Luther entered this match as the No. 5 seed of the tournament and Dubuque was the No. 4 seed.

Following a scoreless first half, Colin Hughes gave the Norse a 1-0 lead at 52:38. Hughes goal was his seventh of the year and he was assisted by Faydane Ouro-Akondo (3). 

The Spartans Glorie Luwara answered with goals at 56:52 and 78:38, his seventh and eighth of the year. 

Just over a minute after the Spartans took a 2-1 lead, Marcos Vila leveled the match with his 11th goal of the year, assisted by Wes McNeese (1).

Ben Keller scored what proved to be the game winner at 109:45, his 13th of the year, assisted by Hughes (6). Keller's goal was his seventh game winner of the year.

Luther out shot Dubuque 24-12 and placed 11 shots on goal. Norse keeper Carson Davenport was credited with three saves.

The victory gives Luther an overall record of 14-4-1. Dubuque ends its season with a record of 10-6-2.

The win also gives Luther a conference tournament record of 27-11-4, that includes a mark of 9-3-2 in first round matches. 

Luther will now travel to regular season champions and the No. 1 seed of the tournament, No. 17 Central College on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Start time is slated for 1:30 p.m. in Pella. The Dutch finished the A-R-C regular season schedule with a record of 6-1-1, 14-2-2. The Dutch also defeated the Norse 2-1 in Decorah, the conference opener for both teams.

Luther and Central have faced each other four times in the conference tournament all in the first round. Luther leads the tournament series 2-1-1.
