No. 8 Luther is in the midst of a four-match stretch facing Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) teams. This afternoon, the Norse traveled to St. Paul, Minn., and squared off against the Scots of Macalester College.
After a scoreless first half, each team scored once in the second stanza, but could not find the back of the net in two overtime periods.
Colin Hughes gave Luther a 1-0 lead with his first goal of the year unassisted at 64:19. Macalester's Nick Moore answered at 76:49, that sent the match into overtime.
Both goalkeepers, Luther's Carson Davenport and Macalester's Cade Fink, were both credited with three saves.
The tie gives Luther an overall record of 2-1-1. Macalester is now 0-2-2.
Luther will travel to St. Olaf College on Wednesday, Sept. 11 for a match that is slated for 4:00 p.m.
