Luther remained unbeaten in American Rivers Conference play thanks to a 2-1 victory over Coe College this afternoon in Cedar Rapids.
In a match that saw both teams credited with seven shots, McKenzie Lundquist broke a 1-1 tie in the 86th minute. The goal was her second of the year and first game winner.
Luther took a 1-0 lead late in the first half, when Hailey Sanchez scored her fifth goal of the year on a penalty kick. The Kohawks leveled the score in the 66th minute when Morgan Patsche drove in her fourth goal of the year.
Kennedy Bergren once again had a solid performance in front of the nets. Bergren was credited with five saves.
The victory gives Luther an A-R-C record of 2-0, 4-5-1 overall. Coe fell to 0-2 in league play, 5-5-1 overall.
Luther next match will be at home against Loras College on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Start time is slated for 5:00 p.m.
