Luther fell to 0-2 in the American Rivers Conference after dropping a 52-21 decision to Coe College this afternoon in Cedar Rapids. The Kohawks held a 24-7 halftime lead and outs scored the Norse 28-14 in the final two frames.
Quon Lambert found the end zone twice for the Norse, scoring on a one-yard plunge in the second quarter, and on a 13-yard run early in the fourth. Michael Lorento scored his first collegiate touchdown with 5:37 left in the game, on a four-yard run. Lambert led the rushing attack with 44 yards and Lorento was next with 32.
Coe was led by running back Tyler Dralle and quarterback Quentin White. Dralle rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns. White was 14-of-20 for 239 yards and three touchdowns.
One week from today Luther will host Central College for Homecoming. Kick-off will take place in Carlson Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
