Buena Vista University knocked down 12 three-point buckets to Luther's five in the second half en route to a 96-83 victory. The Beavers led 40-38 at halftime and outscored the Norse 56-45 in the second frame. BVU finished the night connecting on 20-of-44 attempts from behind the arch, while Luther was 13-of-32.
Jadyn Torres led a Norse attack that had four players produce double figures. Torres scored a career high 18 points. He was 6-of-9 from the field that included a 3-of-6 performance from three-point land. Spencer Sturges had 17 points and led the team with five assists. James Kappus added 14 points and Gage Thompson chipped in 10.
Buena Vista was led by Timothy Jeffries who scored a game high 20 points. Garrett Sittner and Michael Demers both had 18 and Joe Lind was credited with 17. Demers and Lind did all of their damage off the bench.
The loss gives Luther an American Rivers Conference record of 1-9, 7-11 overall. Buena Vista improved to 3-8 in league play, 9-11 overall.
Luther will wrap up its non-conference schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 29 when it will travel to Watertown, Wis., to face Marantha Baptist University. Tip-off will take place at 7:00 p.m.
