Luther completed its fall schedule at the Viterbo University Ronnie Eastman Invitational. The 36-hole tournament was played at the La Crosse Country Club, Onalaska, Wis. The par 72 measured 6912 yards.
Round One was suspended at 3 p.m. on Monday due to rain making conditions unplayable. The round was resumed at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and the Luther golfers played three holes to complete the round. Round two was started immediately afterwards with the weather pleasant, cloudy and temperatures in mid to upper 50's.
The Norse shot rounds of 313 and 302 for a 615 and finished in third place from the field of eight teams. Winona State University won the team title with a 605. Kirkwood Community College was second at 610.
Individually, Ben Phipps tied for medalist honors with Isaac Westlake of Winona State and Will Babcock of Kirkwood. All three shot rounds of 75-73-148.
The remainder of the Norse five and where they placed from the field of 43 golfers included Joe Fewer (T9 - 154), Spencer Horst (T11 - 155), Carson Hagen (T22 - 161) and Ben Meyer (T30 - 166).
