No. 20 Luther won its American Rivers Conference opener at Nebraska Wesleyan University by a final of 1-0 tonight in Lincoln, Neb.
Rafael Broseghini scored the game winner in the 84th minute unassisted. Broseghini's goal was his second of the season.
Carson Davenport went the distance in front of the nets and turned away all five shots he faced inside the frame. The shutout was his third of the year and lowered his goals-against-average to 0.86.
Luther out shot Nebraska Wesleyan 17-7 and placed seven shots on goal.
The win was the second in a row for the Norse who are now 8-1 overall. The Prairie Wolves fell to 4-3 overall.
Luther's next match will be at UW-Platteville on Thursday, Sept. 27. Start time will be 7:30 p.m.
